Dr. Sukumar has extensive experience working as an educator, researcher, consultant Microbiologist and Immunologist. His background includes many years as a university professor, and serving as a consultant clinical diagnostician. Additionally, Dr. Sukumar has more than a decade of clinical training and experience as a Physician.

In addition to being a Licensed Physician & Clinical Microbiologist & Immunologist, Dr. Sukumar has received extensive recognition as a national and international author and presenter. His research has been published in Indian Journal of Microbiology Research; Indian Journal of Allergy Asthma and Immunology; International Journal of Health and Allied Sciences, and the International Journal of Recent Trends in Science and Technology. He has also presented at numerous medical conferences.

Dr. Sukumar’s research interests include innovative techniques in Clinical & Diagnostic Mycology, Diagnostic Virology (Viral culture, antigen detection, nucleic acid detection, serology) and microbial drug resistance and quantitative studies.

Other Departments

St. Matthew's curriculum was designed by U.S.-based faculty and parallels training at top U.S. medical schools. It involves ten semesters of concentrated academic and clinical study split between Basic Sciences and Clinical Sciences.
