Our MBBS to MD pathway prepares students to broaden their options for global medical practice. Academic Requirements
- Students must have completed their MBBS from an accredited medical school within 5 years of application, unless they have been licensed and practicing medicine since their graduation.
- English is the language of instruction at St. Matthews University School of Medicine. If your first language is not English, you must submit proof of English proficiency.
Application Process

- Transcripts: Submit official transcript(s) from each college/university or professional school you attended. Student-issued copies may suffice, pending official transcripts.
- Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement (limited to 500 words) detailing your motivation for pursuing a medical career, noteworthy accomplishments, personal interests, and any pertinent information for the Admissions Committee’s assessment.
- Letters of Recommendation: Provide two letters of recommendation: one from a college/university professor and another from either an employer or a supervising physician.
- Photos: Submit two passport-size (2″ x 2″) color photographs.
- MCAT: Applicants who are not U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents are not required to submit the MCAT.
- TOEFL: Applicants whose principal language is not English may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or comparable examination.
International Grant

Eligible applicants who are citizens and permanent residents of a country outside of the United States or Canada will receive $6,000 USD per semester over six semesters, to be applied towards their tuition.
