Academic Requirements

  • ​​Students must have completed their MBBS from an accredited medical school within 5 years of application, unless they have been licensed and practicing medicine since their graduation.
  • English is the language of instruction at St. Matthews University School of Medicine. If your first language is not English, you must submit proof of English proficiency.

Application Process

  • ​​Transcripts: Submit official transcript(s) from each college/university or professional school you attended. Student-issued copies may suffice, pending official transcripts.
  • Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement (limited to 500 words) detailing your motivation for pursuing a medical career, noteworthy accomplishments, personal interests, and any pertinent information for the Admissions Committee’s assessment.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Provide two letters of recommendation: one from a college/university professor and another from either an employer or a supervising physician.
  • Photos: Submit two passport-size (2″ x 2″) color photographs.
  • MCAT: Applicants who are not U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents are not required to submit the MCAT.
  • TOEFL: Applicants whose principal language is not English may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or comparable examination.

Scholarship – International Student Grant

Eligible applicants who are citizens and permanent residents of a country outside of the United States or Canada will receive $7,300 USD per semester over 6 semesters towards their tuition.
