St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (SMUSOM) has partnered with Clinic 207 to establish a new Family Medicine elective rotation site in Ottawa, Ontario, which will greatly benefit MD students who wish to train in Canada!
Our focus on developing our elective rotation offerings demonstrates our commitment to supporting our students and providing them with diverse educational options.
“We are delighted to welcome Clinic 207 as our newest Family Medicine elective site in Canada,” said Chuck Furey, Vice President of Business Development, Government Relations and Canadian Admissions for SMUSOM. “This partnership not only strengthens our presence in Ottawa but also provides our students with invaluable hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.”
This collaboration provides our community of aspiring physicians with exposure to a range of family medicine practical training, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care and patient counseling. Beneficially, their experience supporting Ottawa’s diverse community will increase both their clinical skills and cultural understanding.
As part of the agreement, the knowledgeable team of family physicians at Clinic 207 will educate, support and mentor students from St. Matthew’s University, as well as our fellow GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools institutions, Saba University School of Medicine and Medical University of the Americas.
With the addition of this new location, our 4-year MD program now offers 10 elective rotation site options across Canada.
