“Honestly, I had a delightful experience at SMU. Having the opportunity to essentially live in paradise made the days of not studying fantastic – sun, beach, diving, etc. The subsequent years of clinicals gave me an opportunity to experience different cities such as New York, Chicago, and Orlando. This helped me round out my medical education as medicine is practiced differently in each part of the country, and I was exposed to a wide variety of patient populations.”
Dr. Rishi Pathak earned his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in 2012. He then completed an internship in general surgery through Exempla St. Joseph Hospital in Denver and a residency through Wayne State University. Pathak then earned a fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine from Johns Hopkins Hospital at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. He now serves as a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Doctor) at North Oaks Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Clinic in Hammond, Louisiana.
