Medicine4Youth Canada Partnership Agreement

Our partnership with medical non-profit organization benefits future medical doctors from Canada.

St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (SMUSOM) and Medicine4Youth Canada (Medicine4Youth), a Canadian non-profit organization comprised of university chapters that support and inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders, are pleased to share their innovative new partnership.

As part of the agreement, SMUSOM will award the Maple Leaf Grant ($500 USD) to each chapter in Canada, sponsor certain Medicine4Youth events, collaborate on information sessions, and provide other support when possible. Medicine4Youth members who plan to pursue a medical school education will benefit greatly from learning about the SMUSOM MD program, connecting with admissions experts, and experiencing the programmatic and financial support delivered via the partnership!

Hanvitha Bosigari and Anita Alizadeh, Co-Presidents of Medicine4Youth, shared: “We at Medicine4Youth are thrilled to partner with Global University Systems (GUS). This collaboration will open new doors for our enthusiastic pre-med community, providing them with invaluable opportunities to advance their medical education and gain global perspectives in healthcare beyond the traditional routes available. Together, we can empower the next generation of physicians to serve communities with skill, compassion and cultural understanding.”

“St. Matthew’s University is delighted to partner with Medicine4Youth Canada to support aspiring Canadian medical students,” said Gulce Kaya, Director of Admissions and Operations for SMUSOM. “This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing opportunities for future physicians through access to scholarships, dedicated mentorship and expansive programming that helps prepare them for successful medical careers.”

Established in 1997, SMUSOM’s legacy includes 2,300+ Doctor of Medicine (MD) program graduates. Our MDs then go on to practice medicine in the U.S., Canada and internationally. Thanks to our expansive curriculum, dedicated faculty and early hands-on training opportunities, SMUSOM students are well-equipped to succeed in USMLE examinations, excel in their U.S. (core and electives) and Canadian (select electives) rotations, and secure diverse residency placements post-graduation. Located on safe and modern Grand Cayman (part of the Cayman Islands), SMUSOM is accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM).

Beneficially, this collaboration has been established between Medicine4Youth and all three GUS Medical Schools – Saba University School of Medicine, Medical University of the Americas and St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine.
