New Elective Opportunity Established in Ontario
We now offer an aesthetic medicine elective in Ottawa for MD program participants.
St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (SMUSOM) is happy to highlight the establishment of Advanced Aesthetic Medicine, our newest elective opportunity for aspiring physicians in the final year of our 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
Developed in collaboration with Victoria Park Medispa Ottawa, this partnership provides our future MDs with the ability to gain meaningful hands-on experience in aesthetic medicine, while working closely with knowledgeable dermatologists, plastic surgeons and specialized nursing staff.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Advanced Aesthetic Medicine elective in partnership with Victoria Park Medispa in Ottawa,” shared the Honourable Chuck Furey, Vice President, Business Development, Government Relations & Canadian Admissions for SMUSOM. “This collaboration reflects St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine’s commitment to providing our learners with access to cutting-edge clinical training led by nationally recognized experts.”
Leadership and guidance during this elective will be provided by Chris Sibley, MD, a Canadian dermatologist with extensive experience as a medical and cosmetic practitioner.
The establishment of this elective reflects SMUSOM’s commitment to enriching healthcare in Canada by educating and training future Canadian physicians. Established in 1997, SMUSOM’s legacy includes 2,300+ MD program graduates – our MDs then go on to practice medicine in the U.S., Canada and internationally.
