Even though I was a Caribbean student, I was side by side with a bunch of different U.S. students and I was still able to take these leadership roles that I was voted in by the students.

Unprecedented 96% Residency Placement Rate*

At St. Matthew’s University, the most important measure of our success as a school is the success of our graduates—and by that measure, we’ve been very successful.

Since our founding, more than 2,000 doctors have received their medical education at St. Matthew’s University. Those graduates have obtained residency appointments in virtually every medical specialty and subspecialty at renowned teaching hospitals and leading medical centers across the U.S., Canada and numerous other countries.

The staff at the university takes special pride in mentoring students for residency positions. Each student is given individual attention and guidance throughout their application process. Personal statements are reviewed, practice interviews are offered, and a comprehensive Medical Student Performance Evaluation is written for residency training directors.

*96% Four Year Residency Placement Rate is the percent of students attaining a residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 who were active applicants in the NRMP match or attained a residency outside the NRMP match.
