At the age of five, Maedeh Ganji was separated from her mother and sister, who had fled to the United States in support of Maedeh’s sister’s medical needs. When Maedeh was nine, her mother returned to Iran and Maedeh learned she was being taken to the U.S., where she went on to complete middle school and high school. She eventually earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in Biology while working to support her mother’s family business.
Dr. Maedeh Ganji graduated from SMU in 2013 and secured a residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Florida. She has since gone on to earn a fellowship in cardiology at UF in Jacksonville.
