Grace College Partnership Agreement

New pathway enhances MD program opportunities for future doctors in Indiana.

St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (SMUSOM) is proud to share details about a newly established partnership with Grace College, a liberal arts college in Winona Lake, IN that was founded in 1948. This medical education collaboration will enhance the financial accessibility of SMUSOM’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and provide key admissions benefits for eligible pathway participants.

Notably, Grace College students who meet all relevant requirements, including achieving success in the Health Science Pre-Medicine Concentration program (with a chemistry minor), will receive a $10,000 USD partnership award, a guaranteed application interview and up to $100,000 USD in additional St. Matthew’s University scholarships. Importantly as well for those seeking to finance their medical school journey, SMUSOM MD students from the U.S. are eligible for federal student loans.

These opportunities help put passionate future physicians from Grace College on the path to achieving their academic, USMLE and residency placement goals!

“The Grace College pre-health program is excited to be partnering with Saba University School of Medicine, Medical University of the Americas and St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine. We see these institutions as being a solid choice for our students to further their medical education journeys. Their commitment to academic excellence and their partnership with U.S. institutions (to provide clinical rotation sites) allows motivated students attending these schools to be well prepared for both residency matches and board exams.”

Rick Roberts, PhD, Associate Dean, School of Science and Engineering, and Pre-Health Professions Coordinator

“We are incredibly excited about this new partnership with Grace College, as we share the same common goal of helping students find their passions and enabling those students to use those passions for the betterment of their fellow man I’m confident that this partnership will help create future physicians who are not only well trained in their field, but also kind, compassionate and sensitive to the needs of their future patients.”

Jeffrey D. Bates, Vice President of Field Recruitment and Business Development for SMUSOM

Established in 1997, SMUSOM has educated, trained and supported 2,300+ MD program graduates. Our accreditor, the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM), is recognized by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME).
